The Medical Science Liaison has excellent product and therapeutic area knowledge and expertise (clinical and technical) related to the entire product portfolio. This is a field-based position with the responsibility to assess/respond to clinical, scientific, or medical information. This can include off-label discussions initiated by HCPs. The MSL plays a key role in key thought leader communication and collaboration. In everything the MSL does he/she puts the patient at the center and acts in the spirit of the highest ethical principles. The role supports the Medical Manager/director in the development and implementation of the Medical Affairs vision, mission, strategy, and action plan in full alignment with the business plan of the specific country/region EMEA BU. The MSL is a key partner of several country/region functions (such as Marketing, Sales, Regulatory Affairs, Patient Access, Compliance, and Legal). He/she supports the Medical Manager of the country BU to provide medical-scientific and strategic input to country strategic teams.

Medical Science Liaison – Responsibilities:
EVIDENCE GENERATION
- Identifies and escalates clinical needs
- Is the primary contact for investigator-initiated trials
EVIDENCE DISSEMINATION
- Assists in the development of publication plans
- Supports the medical manager in the review of promotional materials
KEY THOUGHT LEADER ENGAGEMENT
- Acts as a liaison with the medical community (medical professional societies, therapeutic area experts/KTLs, investigators, consultants)
- Supports the medical director/medical manager in collaboration with key thought leaders and the development of key thought leader programs
- Provides accurate and fair balanced medical-scientific education (presentation of medical-scientific evidence) and information (including ‘2. level’) on products, therapies, issues, trends, clinical research, etc.
- Conducts demos, in-services, etc. at customer sites to ensure appropriate clinical use of products
- Assists in the development of medical-scientific advisory boards, symposia, etc.
- Educates and trains internal staff on products, therapies, issues, trends, clinical research, etc.
- Provides scientific support to the sales team
RISK MANAGEMENT
- Supports the Medical Director or Manager in the risk management of field products and the resolution of field issues related to the clinical use of products
COMPLIANCE
- Ensures compliance of promotional materials
Medical Science Liaison – Requirements:
- MD and/or PhD and/or equally qualified healthcare professional preferably with proven MSL experience. A degree in medical/natural science (PhD, MD) is preferred
- 2-3 years post graduate experience within the healthcare industry is preferred
- Fluency in English and Arabic
- Clinical trial experience with working knowledge of GCP is beneficial
- Training in reporting of adverse events is preferred
- Computer literacy and Windows Office tools skills
- Experience with literature review (analysis and synthesis)
- Experience in public presentation
- Mature personality with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with multiple stakeholders (internal and external) and to build relationships of credibility and trust with them
- Highest degrees of ethics
- Excellent product knowledge and expertise
- Excellent presentation and communication skills in local language and English
- Proven teaching capabilities and understanding of adult learning concepts
- Effective critical thinking skills and strategy implementation
- Broad understanding of the regulatory and healthcare environment in the country/region
