We are looking for a Product Manager to develop, implement, and be accountable for short to medium-term strategic marketing and operational plans for allocated products. The Product Manager will be responsible for revenue growth, meeting agreed profit and market share objectives in the short and medium term.

Responsibilities

  • The Product Manager will develop an annual strategic marketing / operational plan using P5, outlining key activities and marketing programs. Implement approved strategies within agreed-upon budgets.
  • Recommend 1-3-year strategic options for the product through the planning process.
  • Ensure plans/strategies accommodate the changes taking place in the market and respond to customer needs.
  • Produce short to medium-term market share/growth grids for individual products.
  • Implement the tactical plan in line with corporate strategic product objectives.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key customers to support current and future objectives.
  • Monitor the product’s perceived functional performance and take appropriate action.
  • Communicate effectively within the organization to ensure the alignment of the sales force and other key stakeholders.
  • Develop and continuously update knowledge of therapy, products, and markets to be the recognized “Product Champion”.
  • The Product Manager will be responsible for developing/adapting promotional material for the local market.
  • Anticipate current and future trends in disease management and the market environment that are likely to affect the product’s performance and potential, including competitor activity.
  • Work with EMEA Marketing teams to ensure appropriate communication, alignment, and extensive utilization of available resources and expertise.
  • Produce sales/production forecasts and monitor progress.
  • Monitor and take corrective action for major deviations from plans, strategies, budget management, and resource efficiency.
  • Effectively segment key markets and recommend positioning tactics.
  • Implement strategies to maximize pricing and product mix opportunities.
  • Encourage cross-functional input to the planning process.
  • Conduct relevant market research for the product/therapy area and the market/customer base.
  • Build relationships with Key Opinion Leaders.
  • The Product Manager will conduct product training.
  • Work closely with all internal stakeholders (like the sales management team, medical affairs, and finance…).
  • Set up short-term tactical action plans for the field force (defining promotional messages, what promotional material to use, and number of visits …).
  • Drive and execute constructed product launch plans with clear KPIs and close follow-up measures to ensure desired outcomes.
  • Perform product training and demos to customers.
  • Gain a deep understanding of customer experience.
  • Prioritize, plan, and execute on marketing activities based on business and customer impact.
  • Evaluate promotional plans to ensure they are consistent with product line strategy and effectively convey the message.

Functional requirements & competencies

Market Knowledge and Understanding:

  • Have an advanced understanding of customer needs, i.e., proactively uncover unmet needs.
  • Have an advanced understanding of market research methodology and its benefits and costs, including primary and secondary research, qualitative and quantitative research, internal data sources, and their applications.
  • Able to apply knowledge and understanding of the political and country-respective health system/service environment to the operational plan.
  • Able to apply health economics data for own brand in the marketing mix and create appropriate models to drive outcomes.

Planning, Analysis, and Strategic Marketing:

  • Have a full understanding of strategic, operational, and quarterly planning processes.
  • Able to develop medium-term strategic and short-term operational plans.
  • Monitor the progress of the plan’s implementation and propose corrective actions.
  • Have a full understanding of patient modeling and understand, validate, and manipulate assumptions.
  • Develop robust sales forecasts with appropriate levels of detail for operational/strategic planning.
  • Develop investment, sales, and ROI scenarios for individual products.

Operational Marketing:

  • Able to select the most appropriate marketing mix & promotional resource.
  • Able to assess and challenge the appropriateness of concepts based on strategic needs and suggest alternatives.
  • Use multiple channels to reinforce the brand/message consistency.
  • Understand industry developments, take country-specific regulations into consideration, and maximize communications accordingly.
  • Able to construct effective agency briefing documents in line with brand plans.
  • Able to manage changing priorities that influence tactical activities and ensure the overall operational plan is within budget.

Requirements

  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Bachelor’s degree required – Masters degree preferred.
  • 2 to 3 years in Product Management and/or Sales.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
